Section 1 · EduNexus LMS

Setting up your instructor account

Your account is created by Admin. Once you receive your credentials, set up your public instructor profile — students see this on course pages.

Log in and set your instructor profile

/edunexus/login.php → Profile

Open your login URL and sign in with the credentials emailed to you by Admin.
Change your password immediately via Profile → Security → Change Password.
Go to Profile and fill in: professional bio, profile photo, expertise areas, qualifications, and LinkedIn URL.
Your bio and photo appear on every course page you teach — make it professional and credible.

Navigate the instructor dashboard

/instructor/dashboard.php

Your dashboard shows: total students enrolled, average rating, pending assignments to grade, and recent activity.
Left sidebar has: My Courses, My Students, Earnings, Live Sessions, Profile.
The bell icon notifies you when a student submits an assignment, posts in the forum, or completes your course.

Section 2 · Course Builder

Building and publishing a course

EduNexus gives you a full course builder. Structure your content into sections, add lessons of any type, create quizzes, and publish when ready.

Create a new course

My Courses → Add New

Go to My Courses → Add New Course.
Enter the course title — be specific. "Basic Nurse Aide Training — Module 1" is better than "Nursing Module".
Write a clear course description: what students will learn, prerequisites, and who it's for.
Set the category (must match your department), duration, and pass percentage for certificate issue.
Upload a course thumbnail — a clean, professional image. 16:9 ratio, minimum 800×450px.
Click Save Draft — your course is saved but not yet visible to students.

Build the curriculum — sections and lessons

Course → Curriculum tab

Click the Curriculum tab inside your course editor.
Click Add Section to create a chapter (e.g. "Section 1: Introduction to Patient Care").
Inside each section, click Add Lesson and choose the lesson type: Video, Text/Article, PDF, Quiz, or Assignment.
Video lessons: upload an MP4 file or paste a YouTube/Vimeo link. Add a title and description.
Text lessons: use the rich text editor. Add headings, bullet lists, images, and code blocks as needed.
PDF lessons: upload your document. Students can view inline or download.
Drag and drop sections and lessons to reorder them at any time.

Add a quiz to a section

Section → Add Lesson → Quiz

Inside a section, click Add Lesson → Quiz.
Set the quiz title, time limit (in minutes — leave blank for no limit), max attempts, and pass percentage.
Click Add Question. Choose: Multiple Choice or True/False.
For multiple choice: enter the question, add 4 options, and tick the correct answer(s).
Repeat for all questions. Aim for 10–15 questions per quiz for BNA content.
Tick "Show correct answers after pass" if you want students to see explanations after passing.
Click Save Quiz. The quiz appears in the section curriculum.

💡

The final quiz triggers certificate issue. Set its pass percentage carefully — state certification exam standards apply. For BNA, 70% is the minimum; Ánmut recommends 75%.

Publish your course

Course → Settings → Status

Before publishing, preview your course by clicking Preview Course — check every lesson loads correctly.
Go to the course Settings tab and change Status from Draft → Published.
Click Save. Your course is now live and visible to enrolled students.
Admin can also see your published course and may promote it in the programme catalogue.

Course title, description, thumbnail, and pass % are set

At least 3 sections with lessons are created

Final quiz with pass % is added to the last section

Course previewed and published (status = Published)

Section 3 · Student Management

Managing your students

Track who's enrolled, how they're progressing, and keep them informed with course announcements.

View enrolled students and their progress

Go to your course and click the Students tab to see all enrolled students.
You can see each student's progress %, last active date, quiz scores, and assignment status.
If a student has been inactive for more than 5 days, consider posting an encouragement in the course forum or asking Admin to send a nudge.

Post a course announcement

My Courses → [Course] → Announcements

Go to your course and click Announcements → New Announcement.
Write a clear title and message body. Tick Send Email Notification to also email all enrolled students.
Good uses: reminding students of an upcoming due date, sharing a resource link, or explaining a tricky concept.
Announcements appear in students' notification bells and in the course sidebar. Keep them relevant and concise.

Section 4 · Grading

Grading assignments

When a student submits an assignment, you are notified. Review, score, and provide written feedback — students cannot get their certificate until all assignments are graded.

Review and grade a student submission

Dashboard → Pending Grades

When a student submits, you see a bell notification. Go to Dashboard → Pending Grades or click the notification.
Click the student's submission to open it. Download their file and review it thoroughly.
Enter a score in the Score field (out of the maximum set when you created the assignment).
Write detailed feedback — at minimum: what they did well, what to improve, and one specific tip. Feedback is how students learn from assessments.
Click Submit Grade. The student is notified immediately by bell and email.
Grade all submissions within 5 business days of receipt — late grading blocks student certificate issue.

⚠️

Grading blocks certificates. Until every assignment for a student is graded, their certificate cannot be issued — even if they've completed all lessons and passed all quizzes.

Section 5 · Live Sessions & Earnings

Live sessions and getting paid

Schedule a live session

My Courses → Live Sessions → Schedule

Go to your course and click Live Sessions → Schedule New Session.
Enter title, date, start time, and duration. Paste your Zoom or Google Meet link in the Meeting URL field.
Tick Send Reminder Email — students receive the link 1 hour before the session.
Students also see the session in their Timetable in their dashboard.
After the session, mark it as Completed and optionally paste the recording link for students who missed it.

View earnings and request a payout

Instructor → Earnings

Go to Earnings in the instructor sidebar. You'll see total earned, pending, and paid out amounts.
Breakdown by course shows which courses are generating revenue and how many students enrolled.
Click Request Payout when your balance reaches the minimum threshold set by Admin.
Enter your bank account details if not already saved. Admin processes payouts on a set schedule (ask Admin for the schedule).
Payout history is available in the Payout History tab for your records.
